Smuggled items worth 3800 million confiscated in July

Pakistan Customs is making all out efforts to protect the economic frontiers of Pakistan and protect local industry. In line with the vision of Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Customs under the leadership and in coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies i.e. Police, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Rangers & Maritime Security Agency has launched a country-wide operation against transportation, storage and sale of smuggled goods.

Raids are being conducted on dumping places used for storage of smuggled items and intelligence based operations are being conducted in all major cities including Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore and Multan to root out the network of smugglers.

As a result of these coordinated efforts and renewed vigour Pakistan Customs has made historic seizures of smuggled goods during the month of July 2020 including gutka, betel nuts, skimmed milk, cigarettes, Iranian diesel, tyres, non-duty paid vehicles, narcotics, cloth, gold and foreign currency amounting to Rs.3800 million. This is 143 percent increase in the value of seized goods as compared to the seizures amounting to Rs.1560 million made during July 2019.

Pakistan Customs will continue this momentum against smuggling mafias with the assistance of all Law Enforcement Agencies to protect local industry and economic interests of the country.

3ارب 80 کروڑ مالیت کی سمگل شدہ اشیاء کی ضبطگی

فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریوینیو نے ماہ جولائی میں ضبط شدہ سمگلنگ اشیاء کی تفصیلات جاری کی ہیں جس کے مطابق ماہ جولائی میں قا بل نمایاں طور پر 3ارب 80 کروڑ روپے مالیت کی سمگل شدہ اشیاء کو ضبط کیا گیا جن میں گٹکا ، چھالیہ، خشک دودھ، سگریٹس، ایرانی ڈیزل، ٹائرز، نان ڈیوٹی پیڈ گاڑیاں ، منشیات، کپٹرا، سونا اور غیر ملکی کرنسی شامل ہیں۔ ماہ جولائی میں ضبط ہونے والی سمگل شدہ اشیاء کی مالیت پچھلے سال جولائی 2019 کی سمگل شدہ اشیاء کی مالیت کی نسبت 143 فیصد زائد ہے۔ پچھلے سال 1ارب 56 کروڑ روپے مالیت کی سمگل شدہ اشیاء ضبط کی گئیں۔

پاکستان کسٹمزنے وزیر اعظم پاکستان کی ہدایا ت کی روشنی میں اور نئے چئیرمین کی لیڈرشپ میں قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں جن میں پولیس، فرنٹیر فورس، پاکستان رینجرز اور میری ٹائم سیکیورٹی ایجنسی کے تعاون سے پورے ملک باالخصوص کوئٹہ ، پشاور، کراچی، لاہور اور ملتان میں سمگلنگ کی روک تھام کے لئے آپریشنز تیز کر دئیے ہیں۔ ان آپریشنز میں سمگل شدہ اشیا ء کی فروخت و آمدورفت کو روکنا اور ذخیرہ کرنے والے گوداموں میں چھاپے شامل ہیں۔

پاکستان کسٹمز سمگلنگ کی روک تھام ، ملکی معاشی استحکام اور مقامی صنعت کے فروغ کے لئے ان آپریشنز کو جاری رکھے گی۔
