FBR offices, banks to remain open till late Friday to collect taxes

The Regional Tax Offices of the Inland Revenue across Pakistan as well as the authorized branches of the State Bank of Pakistan and National Bank of Pakistan would remain open till late on Friday to facilitate collection of taxes for the month of December 2010.
The chief commissioners of all 18 Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) as well as three Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) of the country have been asked to keep their offices open till 9:00pm on Friday to liaise with the State Bank of Pakistan and the authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan which will remain functional until 8:00pm, to ensure passing on the tax collection by these authorized branches to the respective offices of State Bank of Pakistan on the same day and to account for the same towards the collection for the month of December, 2010, says an order of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday.
