FBR denies rejection of FTO report

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has denied a news item appearing in a section of press claiming FBR has rejected the Federal Tax Ombudsman’s report on NATO containers scam.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the FBR spokesperson called the news report “incorrect”, saying FBR is already conducting a high-level inquiry in the containers case in pursuance of its commitment made before the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The inquiry committee is yet to conclude its finding.
