Chairman FBR Visits Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry
On the directives of the Prime Minister, Mr. Amjad Zubair Tiwana Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) visited Karachi today and held a meeting with the representatives of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) at KCCI House, Karachi.
Mr. Tariq Pasha Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue joined the meeting via video link from Islamabad. Chairman KCCI Mr. Zubair Motiwala welcomed the SAPM and the Chairman FBR.
Mr. Zubair Motiwala and other members of the KCCI conveyed their concerns regarding pending refund claims. Chairman FBR assured his full cooperation and announced formation of a high-powered committee comprising members from KCCI and concerned Chief Commissioners – IR. The committee will meet on regular basis and submit its proposals to FBR on operational and policy matters.
Chairman FBR also formed another committee to address the issues relating to Customs especially the revision of fixed rebate rates. Chief Collectors of Customs Karachi have been nominated as members of the committee by the Chairman.
The office bearers and members of KCCI appreciated the visit of the newly appointed Chairman and the keen interest shown by the Government in resolving the outstanding issues of the exporters. They assured that resolution of the concerns will address the issue of liquidity crunch for exporters and result in increased exports. At the end of the meeting, KCCI also presented souvenirs to the Chairman FBR.

وزیراعظم کی ہدایت پر چیئرمین فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو امجد زبیر ٹوانہ نے جمعہ کے روز کراچی کا دورہ کیا اور کراچی چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری کے نمائندوں سے کے سی سی آئی ہاؤس میں ملاقات کی۔ وزیر اعظم کے معاون خصوصی برائے ریونیو طارق پاشا نے اسلام آباد سے ویڈیو لنک کے ذریعے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔
کے سی سی آئی کے چیئرمین زبیر موتی والا نے وزیر اعظم کے معاون خصوصی اور چیئرمین ایف بی آر کو خوش آمدید کہا۔
زبیر موتی والا اور کے سی سی آئی کے دیگر اراکین نے زیر التواء ریفنڈ کلیمز کے حوالے سے اپنے تحفظات سے آگاہ کیا۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے مکمل تعاون کا یقین دلایا اور کے سی سی آئی اور متعلقہ چیف کمشنرز ان لینڈ ریونیو پر مشتمل ایک اعلیٰ اختیاراتی کمیٹی کے قیام کا اعلان کیا۔ کمیٹی مستقل بنیادوں پر اپنے اجلاس منعقد کرے گی اور ایف بی آر کو آپریشنل اور پالیسی معاملات پر اپنی تجاویز پیش کرے گی۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے کسٹمز سے متعلق مسائل بالخصوص فکسڈ ریبیٹ ریٹس پر نظر ثانی کے لئے ایک اور کمیٹی بھی تشکیل دی۔ چیئرمین نے کراچی کسٹمز کے چیف کلکٹرز کو اس کمیٹی کے ممبران کے طور پر نامزد کیا ہے۔ کے سی سی آئی کے عہدیداروں اور اراکین نے نئے چیئرمین کے دورہ اور برآمد کنندگان کے مسائل کو حل کرنے میں حکومت کی گہری دلچسپی کو سراہا۔ اُنہوں نے یقین دلایا کہ برآمد کنندگان کے لیکویڈیٹی کی کمی کے مسئلہ کو حل کرنے سے برآمدات میں اضافہ ہو گا۔ا جلاس کے اختتام پر کے سی سی آئی کی طرف سے چیئرمین ایف بی آر کو سوونیئرز بھی پیش کئے گئے۔
