Meeting of Chief Commissioner RTO Islamabad with Trade association of Capital Territory.

On 4th February 2016 a meeting of Income Tax Officers of Regional Tax Office, Islamabad with elected Trade Representative of different markets of Islamabad was held. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Naushad Ali Khan, Chief Commission, Regional Tax Office, Islamabad. Mr. Ajmal Baloch, President of All Pakistan Traders was heading the team of Traders belonging to 18 markets of Islamabad. Meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran. The purpose of meeting was to educate traders about Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme recently announced by FBR to enhance the tax base and encourage traders to file the Income tax returns voluntarily. Mr. Naveed Hassan, Deputy Commissioner-IR and Mr. Shah Bahar, Deputy Commissioner-IR highlighted the salient features of the scheme. Later on, Chief Commissioner-IR, RTO Islamabad replied to the queries raised by the traders. In this regard Mr. Naushad Ali Khan, Chief Commissioner ensured trader community of Islamabad of his full support and cooperation. He further informed the participants that Tax Facilitation Camps have already been established in different markets of Islamabad where Income Tax Officials have been posted to help traders in filing of returns under this scheme. He further stated that to facilitate traders two mobiles teams have also been formed. These mobile teams will reach the markets on a notice of 30 minutes as and when traders will demand. The Chief Commissioner assured trade leaders of his fullest cooperation and told them that his doors will always be open for trade community. Mr. Ajmal Baloch thanked Mr. Naushad Ali Khan, Chief Commissioner on the steps taken by RTO, Islamabad for facilitation of traders. Mr. Ajmal Baloch lauded this new simple scheme and thanked Government of Pakistan for introducing “one page Income Tax Return”. He was of the opinion that this trader friendly scheme will result in increase not only in tax base but government revenue will also increase. In this regard Mr. Ajmal Baloch, on behalf of traders of Islamabad, extended their fullest cooperation to RTO Islamabad.
