Pakistan Customs is gearing up for more achievements in future, Chairman FBR

To mark the International Customs Day on 26^th January, a small ceremony was held in Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad in view of precautionary measures of Covid-19. Chairman FBR Muhammad Javed Ghani graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The other participants included Syed Hamid Ali, Member (Customs-Policy), Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah (Chief Collector, North) and other officers / officials of Pakistan Customs Service.

While welcoming the Chief Guest, Junaid Jalil Khan, the Collector, MCC, Islamabad referred to the theme “Customs bolstering Recovery, Renewal and Resilience for a sustainable supply chain”, set by the World Customs Organization (WCO) for 2021. He highlighted the recent achievements of Pakistan Customs in pursuance of set theme for this year particularly after the challenges posed by spread of corona virus. The Chief Collector (North) highlighted that it was quite onerous for Pakistan Customs  to chase the desired milestones owing to the interruptions created by COVID 19, however, all these targets were accomplished due to inspirational leadership of current Chairman.

While Speaking on this occasion, Chairman FBR, Muhammad Javed Ghani, stated that the WCO’s theme is both in line with the policies, that have been laid down by the Government of Pakistan and fully compatible with the initiatives already undertaken by FBR and Pakistan Customs. He took into account various initiatives undertaken by Pakistan Customs not only to keep the supply chain intact but also to accelerate the same. He highlighted that such initiatives have kept Pakistan at a stable economic pedestal as compared with other regional countries. Chairman FBR particularly referred to the great sacrifice of life rendered by the officers and officials in the line of duty and paid tributes to them. 

In the end, the Certificates of Merit were distributed amongst the officers who performed well during the last year.

پاکستان کسٹمز کامیابیوں کا سلسلہ جاری رکھے گا، چئیرمین ایف بی آر

انٹرنیشنل کسٹمز ڈے کے موقع پر ماڈل کسٹمز کولیکٹوریٹ اسلام آباد میں تقریب کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ تقریب کے مہمان خصوصی چئیرمین ایف بی آر محمد جاوید غنی تھے۔ دیگر شرکاء میں ممبر کسٹمز پالیسی سید حامد علی، چیف کولیکٹر نارتھ ڈاکٹر آصف محمود جاہ اور پاکستان کسٹمز سروس کے افسران و اہلکار شامل تھے۔

کولیکٹر ماڈل کسٹمز کولیکٹوریٹ جنید جلیل خان نے افتتاحیہ کلمات میں سال 2021 کے لئے ورلڈ کسٹمز آرگنائیزیشن کی طرف سے متعین کردہ موضوع پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نےپاکستان کسٹمز کی طرف سے ورلڈ کسٹمز آرگنائیزیشن کے موضوع "کسٹمز  تجارتی سپلائی چین کی بحالی،تجدید اور لچک" پر اب تک حاصل کردہ کامیابیوں کا تذکرہ کیا۔چیف کولیکٹر نارتھ نے کووڈ 19 کے باعث پیش آنے والی رکاوٹوں کا ذکر کیا اور کہا کہ موجودہ چئیرمین کی راہنمائی میں پاکستان کسٹمز تما م مشکلات کو دور کرنے میں کامیاب ہوا ہے۔

تقریب کے مہمان خصوصی چئیرمین ایف بی آر محمد جاوید غنی نے کہا کہ ورلڈ کسٹمز آرگنائیزیشن کا سال 2021 کے لئے متعین کردہ موضوع موجودہ حکومت کی ایف بی آر اور کسٹمز کے لئے وضع کردہ پالیسی سے مطابقت رکھتا ہے۔ انہوں نے پاکستان کسٹمز کی طرف سے تجارتی سپلائی چین کو برقرار رکھنے کے لئے اٹھائے گئے اقدامات کا تذکرہ کیا اور کہا کہ ان اقدامات کی بدولت پاکستان کی معیشت علاقائی ممالک کے مقابلے میں مستحکم رہی ہے۔ چئیرمین ایف بی آر نے فرض کی ادائیگی کے دوران شہید ہونے والے افسران و اہلکاروں کو خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ تقریب کے آخر میں گزشتہ سال  بہترین کارکردگی دکھانے والے افسران میں سرٹیفیکیٹ تقسیم کئے گئے۔
